Embrace Change and Overcome Fear
Happy November, everyone!
As we step into this new month, I want to share some powerful insights I gathered from three renowned coaches who recently delved into a topic we all struggle with: fear.
Whether it's the fear of being seen, fear of rejection, fear of failure, or the nagging feeling of not being good enough, these emotions can hold us back in profound ways.
Each coach approached fear from a unique angle, but they all recognized that the way to overcome it is by looking beyond the fear itself. They understood that fear is our body's natural response to the unknown, often perceived as danger.
One coach posed a thought-provoking question during a 5-day live workshop: “What pattern or behavior is holding you back? How is it trying to support you?” This perspective encourages us to lean into what scares us, embracing our fears so they can be expressed and ultimately released. It's about giving shape and feeling to fear within our bodies—energetically acknowledging its presence.
Another coach addressed the rising concerns around AI and its impact on businesses. Many fear they business may become obsolete, worried that they won't adapt quickly enough or that someone else might arrive first and invent the future they envision. However, they reminded us that while AI can assist in many ways, it cannot replicate human qualities like trust, discernment, or the nuanced understanding of our experiences. Instead of fearing change, they urged us to be intentional about how we evolve, integrating human-AI collaboration to enhance our work while we focus on our unique preferences and experiences.
The third coach tackled the fear of being small, exemplified through a client aspiring to be a public speaker yet paralyzed by the fear of judgment. Public speaking is the #1 fear, and for good reason: we fear scrutiny, failure, and forgetting our words. Yet, when this client stepped onto the stage, she not only faced her fears but also found her ideal audience. This experience transformed her identity, allowing her to shed the limitations she had imposed on herself. The coach emphasized how our brains operate on predictive models, assessing our environment and past experiences to keep us safe. They concluded their session with a powerful question: “What would you do if you had no fear?”
What's remarkable about these coaches is their success as 6- and 7-figure entrepreneurs who have navigated their own fears and emerged with wisdom and insight to share with others.
We all wonder what holds us back from achieving the success, relationships, careers, and communities we envisioned for ourselves. We know these conversations are necessary, yet we are overwhelmed with the noise and the myriad of options available.
I may not be at their level of success (yet) but I can say that I understand these principles and I am here to support those who may not have access to expensive programs (offered by these renowned coaches).
